About this mod Machine translation
This mod replaces the default drinking sound with 2 new sounds designed to work with the female protagonist.
Update 11/28/18:
v2.0 has been uploaded. Let me know any questions. Pretty simple, I'm sure there's nothing there, but still - you never know.
Update 11/28/18:
Each time I work on it, I'm going to make it simpler. I started to learn that the first version was a bit much and stopped using my own mods after that. For those who like the first version you can keep using it naturally, but I'm going to make a simpler version for those who want something... well... simple - more like the default version, but with better drinking sounds. There will still be a focus on female characters.
This is my first actual mod (besides some FO4 female character presets). It always bothered me that I could never find the sound of drinking. I use iNeed, SkyWater, Skyrim Fountains and WeightMorphs for immersion so better drinking sounds are always ideal but have never been done to my knowledge. I learned to take full advantage of the Creation Kit to finally make this mod a reality. It was originally just for my personal use, but I quickly decided to share it because I knew others might want better drinking FX. But sadly, it's only for female protagonists (as I only find myself playing one character these days). That's not to say you can't simply toggle this mod's plugin on/off if you have a hero and heroine switching back and forth. Turn the plugin "on" if playing as a female character, and "off" when playing as a male character. It would be great if it were possible to make this gender specific, but I can't rate the Creation Kit enough (if that's even possible). I hope to get better and eventually start making my own mods. Who would have guessed that drinking FX mods would lead me to finally learn how to use a Creation Kit? I guess you have to start somewhere. Anyway, for anyone who uses this mod, I hope you enjoy it deeply because to my knowledge it's the first of its kind. I currently have two versions of this mod.
The first one replaces all the default drinking sounds with 2 new sounds (out of the 4 old ones) that I made.
The second one only works with mod "SkyWater". It only replaces the drinking FX included in this mod. It will leave all other drinking sounds (potions, ale and wine, etc.) unchanged. It also adds the same 2 new drinking FX (4 old).
The first one will also replace SkyWater's FX if used, but if you just want to change SkyWater's FX and leave everything else unchanged, use the second version.
If using Skyrim Fountain, the second version will not affect its FX. If you use the first version it will change the FX.
I'm going to figure out a way to get a second version to change the FX for Skyrim Fountain at some point in the future (just kidding).
I'm not sure what this mod is and isn't compatible with, but it's so simple that I can see any compatibility issues. If anyone finds it please let me know. I'll try to fix it. I can't guarantee anything.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
