About this mod Machine translation
Skyrim's more flexible and refined skill specialization system.
Overview
In previous "Elder Scrolls" titles, skill selections at character creation would determine how quickly skills improved. Skyrim removes the character creation aspect and instead gives you "Guardian Stones" to choose a set of skills to speed things up. The great thing about the new system is that it's simple and allows you to change your character's focus over time. However, it also sucks because it lacks flexibility, and having those guardian stones coexist with 10 other standing stones means you're forced to choose between skill advancement and gameplay ability, which doesn't make any sense!
Skill specialization in Skyrim is primarily done through the Perk system, and this mod aims to keep the mode consistent. It implements a new skill learning system that is inspired by Morrowind's old class system, but skill selection is now tied to Perks rather than being determined by character creation or Standing Stones. Additionally, Guardian Stones have been redesigned, and various adjustments have been made to standing stones to improve them.
Dynamic skill specialization
Skill learning modifiers are determined by a combination of skill level and investment in the corresponding tree's primary Perks. Therefore, each skill is classified as Major (35% XP bonus), Minor (normal XP), or Assist (20% XP penalty*). At lower levels, the main skill only requires the first Perk, but at higher levels, further investment is required.
*If you prefer secondary skills without gaining XP, set DSS_HardcoreMode to 1 in the in-game console or in the plugin itself.
These conversions work as follows:
Getting Started: Primary Skill Requires First Perk
Skill level 40+: Main skills require the second skill, minor skills require the first skill
Skill level 60+: The main skill requires the 3rd skill, the secondary skill requires the 2nd skill
Skill level 80+: The main skill requires the 4th skill, the secondary skill requires the 3rd skill
Note that for Smithing trees, the Perks on both sides of the tree count as the main Perks.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
