Signature Equipment

About this mod Machine translation
Have an item you like, but its statistics won't hang? Is it weird to think that weapons used by legendary heroes cost the same as fake weapons that were just forged? With signature gear, your weapons and armor carry power and value with you. No maintenance required this time.
In short, Signature Equipment enables your weapons and armor to scale with achievements. Killing an entire Stormcloak army single-handedly with a butter knife? That butter knife now has the statistics and value to prove it. Wearing the same pair of dragon-slaying boots for good luck? You guessed it.
In fact, the more you use the same device, the more valuable it becomes. It's a lot like backfiring, but you do it gradually by cleaving enemies apart. This makes a favorite early game weapon a signature weapon proportional to your character. Perhaps your character might deliberately build a reputation for a weapon in order to sell it for a huge profit. Or maybe you like the look of the weapon, but its damage can't keep up. No more problems with this mod!
How do I use this mod?
The mod is plug and play. There is a configuration menu that allows you to disable mods, adjust progression and set progression caps for weapons and armor. Apart from this, you can also play games and watch as your device powers up.
The default progression rate is balanced to ensure your equipment is viable without overshadowing any high-end equipment you may encounter. Progress slows down exponentially the more you upgrade an item, so an iron sword may end up sturdier than an ebony sword, but an ebony sword has more potential. The higher your level, the faster equipment will progress past the level you've surpassed, providing a "fast track" to upgrades if you choose to use new equipment.
Installation and compatibility
If you use legendary weapons and vestments, uninstall them first. This mod replaces it.
This mod requires SKSE. To use MCM, SkyUI is required. Make sure you install those first. Otherwise, installation is standard.
All weapons and armor, clothing and jewelry are affected, even modified items.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
