About this mod Machine translation
Mod adds Morrowind/Oblivion style enchantments and increases armor rating. Because forging is ridiculous.
The scroll is expensive, but packed with physical spells. The enchantment is not very strong, but it takes up slots. Playing as a mage is much more satisfying now.
I made it myself, but since I didn't meet my deadlines on other mods, I'm just posting this :)
Enchantments use the same keywords as Fortify Health, so if you're playing the vanilla perk, it's overridden by the Corpus Enchanter perk, and if you're using the ordinator or something - they're probably overridden by something as well.
Usage: Unzip to the Data folder and enable the plug-in. There is a new Dark Elf NPC in Riverwood, and she is a must-have.
Why TLDR is a good idea:
Armor in Skyrim is based on %, but shown as something else. Each armor point in the vanilla game is equal to 0.12% damage resistance. The more you have - the higher the value of each %, the less you have - the less impact it has. Like adding 20% from zero won't help much, but going from 60% to 80% will reduce the damage twice.
71 points per item is like 8.52% Damage Resistance (DR).
An upper grade score of 180 is 21.6% disaster recovery.
300 points from Ebony + 3 points of mage armor is 36% DR
Getting 50 points from the main stone is 6% DR.
If you're wearing armor (not clothing, which means no mage armor) then you'll gain some hidden armor rating but it's also small - 100 (12% DR) for the entire set without shielding.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
