Seamless Billboards

About this mod Machine translation
Improved, scratch-made billboards and profiles for all trees in the base game and DLC.
illustrate
I really like vanilla trees. This is another step towards getting the most out of them. There were so many persistent issues with the tree billboard resources available that I decided to do something about it.
The main things I'm trying to do to fix/improve existing billboard assets are:
Incorrect Alpha with white outline or other artifacts
Off-center texture layout resulting in doubling of tree trunks
Uneven lighting
Incorrect dimensions in text configuration file
Incorrect offset on Z axis causing float
Some specific DLC trees are missing resources
All trees were recaptured with the help of NifSkope and zilav's Tree LOD Billboard Creator. Special attention was paid to lighting, perspective and picking the most even side of the billboard to use. Then, manually edit the output in Photoshop and adjust the proportions. All billboard textures are located in the center of the trunk. Those without straight stems are centered at the roots.
All dimensions and offsets of each tree mesh were re-measured in NifSkope to ensure correct placement and matching dimensions of the billboard and full mockup. Some references to actual tree records have been corrected, and completely missing trees are now covered. The archive contains a plugin that adds a "has tree LOD" flag to several trees that are missing it (as static trees).
The default brightness and saturation are adjusted for use with ENB, but since all billboards have neutral and matching lighting, they can be easily adjusted to match DynDOLOD's billboard brightness options.
Install
Use Vortex - override if asked. Use MO2 - place it below other mods containing these textures (higher priority).
The plugin only contains the "Has Tree LOD" flag for 4 tree types that are missing it - I recommend merging these few records.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
