RUSTIC FROSTBITE SPIDER is a high-resolution retexture of the overlooked Frostbite Spider, for which Bethesda only made a 1K texture. Not big enough to house the game's giant spiders.
RUSTIC FROSTBITE SPIDER is another in a series of rustic modifications I've made to Skyrim. This creature is arguably more in need of a makeover than the Spriggans, as Bethesda has never included the Frostbite Spider in its high-resolution packages.
Sadly, one can only use 1K textures. For normal sized spiders this isn't that bad, but giant spiders are huge and the 1K textures only survive scaling up. Therefore, I made a realistic high-resolution texture for this animal and included as many details as possible in it.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
