About this mod Machine translation
Provide racial compatibility (and racism) for RSChildren playables, as they should be recognized and treated accordingly as adults.
In short, this adds tags to every playable race so that Jon Bart-Born and Galmar will eventually respect your Nord children and fellow Nords, Hulda will disrespect you as an Elf child when you ask her a magic question, and so on.
As an added side effect, this also fixes Orc children that are not automatically recognized as being of Orc blood.
Require:
All DLC (this is due to the following mods requiring all three)
RS Kids Overhaul (Playable option installed. Non-playable version will be provided on request)
RS Elven and Beast Children (optional alternative version for human children only available if you don't want to use this mod)
RaceCompatibility for Skyrim and Dawnguard (Duh.)
(Optional) RaceCompatibility-Dialog Change (see comments below)
Compatibility and load order:
Load after all other mods that modify records in RS Children Overhaul, RS Elves and Beast Children, and related mods.
This will conflict with any mod that specifically edits match logs. If such a mod is loaded after this time, the RaceCompatibility tag will be lost. If you load it before this, you will lose any edits made by the mod. If a compatibility patch is needed, please leave a comment and I'll get to work.
This mod will need to be updated if any updates occur to any required mods that change race entries. Please bear with me and I'll try my best - I've encountered a nasty thing called "life". I don't know how to get it, but I can't seem to get rid of it.
RaceCompatibility-dialog change description:
Strictly speaking, this mod is not required, but is highly recommended. It provides many patches for popular mods so they can recognize you based on your presence, too, but one patch in particular stands out.
If you're using Arthmoor's excellent Alternate Beginnings - Live Another Life mod, you'll want to get the patch. Why? Because it unlocks a race-specific start for any race using the appropriate RaceCompatibility tag.
Want to be a Dunmer child refugee on Raven Rock? Done Argonian children growing up in the Argonian Society? Blinded by you. etc.
Future plans: For now
There are no plans except bug fixes and necessary mod updates. Compatibility patches and alternative releases will be made as needed.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
