About this mod Machine translation

Original address:

Boethiah's Ritual Armor was originally designed and forged by Dark Elf worshipers who worshiped Prince Boethiah. This ancient design has been rediscovered (via a lost book found at Scellum in Bohia) and modified to render the black dragon as further armored reinforcement. Only the champions of Boethiah possess the unique knowledge to rebuild this magical armor.

New forgeable/upgradeable/enchantable stand-alone dragon scale armor set (made from a render of the black dragon). Includes custom helmet, breastplate, guantlets, boots plus mask and magical leather half-cloak (called Boethiah Ritual Shroud) as additional worn armor pieces. The armor can only be forged at the Ritual Forge which has been added to Boethiah's Scellum, along with a locker and workbench.

Boethiah's Ritual Shroud is enchanted with a new magical property called "Despair". The enchantment has two effects: while sneaking the wearer is silent (sullen), and as hostile assistants get closer, they are struck by despair and their movements are slowed. The slowing effect is stronger than the normal slowing seen with frost-based spells, but not as intensely paralyzing. The effect of Despair disappears from opponents/prey about 5 seconds after being affected, but will reactivate if they come into range again. Desperate victims also have a rather subtle visual element incorporated into them. The visual effects of the Sneaky and Despair Shrouds are slightly different when activated: swirling tendrils of translucent black smoke and dark clouds will slowly crawl over the character's face, armor, and weapons when attacked. This can be a very effective alarm system, alerting you to the first signs of an attack. This effect is similar to Ebony Mail, but I've changed it a bit so as not to be so dark and obtrusive and not obstruct the first person view. The sneaky visual effect is the same, except there are no smoky tendrils. No, the Shroud cannot be disenchanted, as it is a minor daedric relic.

All pieces are suitable for all races, sizes and genders. Highly detailed and uniquely designed, consistent with Skyrim's environments, materials and lore. This is a completely separate armor set and should not conflict with or replace anything. The "Shroud" is a new customization item specifically for armor, but I'm trying to adapt it to fit robes and other light armor, and be wearable with most cloaks.

An NPC involved in the early portion of the "Boethiah's Calling" quest was equipped with the full set of this armor. Therefore, I recommend that you put this mod at the bottom of the load order to avoid having to deal with mods that modify the equipment list of NPC levels.

This armor set is only available after the player becomes Boethiah's Champion

By completing the mission "Boethiah's Calling" (available at level 30)

To forge. It can only be forged using the Ritual Forge located in Boethiah Scellum.

If players install this mod before completing the mission, they will gain the "Champion of Boethiah" ability upon completing the mission. However, if players have already completed the quest when installing this mod, they will need to read a new book called "Boethiah's Ritual Armor," which appears in the Boethiah Sacellum near the Ritual Forge. In either case, it is recommended that players obtain the book, as it contains additional lore and details the 'shield's' armor and magical properties.

The armor itself is light dragon armor with a slightly higher armor rating and requires additional materials to forge (daedric heart, ebony ingot), so in addition to completing the tasks above, you'll of course also need to be able to forge dragon armor. The Shroud requires additional Void Salt and Black Soul Gem (refill).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
