About this mod Machine translation
This mod will add a player-owned mailbox to the outside of the player's castle in Skyrimlazz's Knights Rest, which is part of the Skald mail system.
I have several mods installed that are essential to all my playstyles, such as Black Horse Courier Reborn by Sagittarius22, Holidays by isoku, and Skyrim Reputation by dcyren, All of this adds more courier services to the standard system, which can make the system pretty hassle-free with all the mail being sent manually, and it's immersive that he always knows exactly where I am even if he's out in the wild somewhere.
So when I saw Alistair Rodryk's Skald's Mail- A Courier Alternative I downloaded it immediately and this lovely mod gained a permanent spot in my load order.
This awesome mod adds mailboxes that you can rent or buy as well as vanilla and Hearthfire house mailboxes to have all or most of your mail delivered there like in real life without having to process the receiving mail server.
The only thing is, I've never used any house from Vanilla or Hearthfire as my primary residence and have always used home mods, and I'm currently using skyrimlazz's awesome Knight's Rest .
Luckily, Alistair Rodryk provided an easy-to-follow guide for adding mailboxes to the courier system, and that's how this mod was born. I'm uploading this just to save my fellow Dovahkiins time or those who are not comfortable with using the Creation Kit.
Obviously this requires Skald's Mail - a Courier replacement, and all the requirements, even if no assets are used or changed and not needed as a master file, requires Knight's Rest. Otherwise, there would be just one mailbox floating in the wilderness in the cell where the Knights Rest House is located.
Install
Just install using your favorite Mod Manager, or drop into the data folder and activate esp.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
