About this mod Machine translation
It seems to me that this mod overwrites some scripts from the Religion - Prayer Meditation Worship mod written by IronDusk33 to make certain vices and virtues more logical. I've also added a guide to guide you through the module in an immersive way.
I love IronDusk33’s Religion Mod, to me it’s essential for realistic gaming. However, I was so intrigued by the idea that I decided to dig deeper into the mod files to better understand its mechanics. As I learned more about each god, I began to come up with my own ideas about sin and virtue. So I decided to make some changes myself!
This mod requires IronDusk33's original mod (version 2.06 only), this mod will only override some of its scripts. The optional .esp added by this mod adds two new books to guide you through my changes to please God. These books are explained in detail below.
I believe my script changes make it easier for people in China to follow in a logical way, since vices and virtues are directly related to their specific teachings and common sense about knowledge. Additionally, due to these changes, you can now still please some gods and hate others because their values are so different.
I decided not to make the Daedra worship side of the mod because I feel like I don't know enough about them to make such changes.
I added two books:
The first book is called "The Book of Gods" and it's basically a peerless book that will explain what I know about each god and immersively hint at the vices and virtues associated with each god without having to be too obvious. The book is rather wordy and may require some thought to figure out possible vices and virtues. You can find several copies of this book that can be brought to the temples of Dibella, Kynareth, Mara, and Talos for free.
The second book is called The Cultist's Guide to the Nine, which is almost a bit of a "cheat". Basically, it will give you a clear list of the sins and virtues of each god. However, I still tried to keep the wording immersive and not too obvious. For example, I wrote "Kill the harmless dragon" instead of "Kill Paarthurnax" for Akatosh. If you're still having a hard time finding any of these clues, you can find out the exact vices and virtues in the spoilers below, or if you don't want to see those, feel free to tell me and I'll tell you what they mean. I urge you to read the first book before reading this one to understand the reasons behind my choices of vices and virtues and guess for yourself. This book can only be purchased from Freyr in the Temple for a higher price. She will now also sell you several other religion-related books, including the Book of Gods, and will buy books and spellbooks from you.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
