About this mod Machine translation
Vanilla hair alternative to give Redguards a more natural hairstyle
Have you ever installed an NPC hair replacement mod for Skyrim? Does it feel a little weird when Redguards suddenly have straight hair? It's a small detail, but I can't help but find it a little odd. This mod replaces the hair of all Red Guards in the game, both civilians and enemies. This mod also includes men and women.
For mods you will need:
KS hairstyle (including male and female versions)
HG Hairstyles (WARNING: Links may contain NSFW content). Additionally, you need every mod that requires the mods above to run.
compatibility:
Can it be used with another hair replacer mod? Yes, I myself use it with other hair replacement mods as well. All you need to do is place it below the other hair replacers in the loading order. Then it will overwrite it.
troubleshooting:
This is my first Skyrim mod, so please bear with me if you have problems running it.
When running this mod I have vanilla hairstyle and gray face bugs? If you encounter this, it may be due to the fact that KS and HG hairstyles are marked as plug-in files instead of main files. In order to fix this issue, you need to completely uninstall the mod first. Then use a program such as Wyre Bash to copy the KS Hairdos and HG Hairdos to the master file (esm). You also need Mod Organizer. You may find this video (minutes 4:35-7:25) as a helpful guide. The video also shows how to change the ini file, which is what you need to do. Make sure to copy both the KS hairstyle and the HG hairstyle as the main file. Once done, reinstall the mod and it should work.
Do I only have gray-faced worms? Like most hair models, if you encounter this issue you will need to export facegen data for the affected NPC. There are lots of guides on doing this, but if I can give you some advice, don't try to export data for 30+ NPCs at once. Programs or the entire PC can crash.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
