This mod redoes skill books so instead of granting levels immediately, they permanently increase the leveling speed of their respective skills. This means that once you find them, you can benefit greatly from reading them.
Note: Read Well will only detect books read from your inventory or placed in the world, not books read from containers! Make sure to remove them from the container first.
The upgrade bonuses awarded by books depend on how many books with the corresponding skill you have read, and whether you have the Scholar Insight in Black Book: Winds of Change. Scholar's Insight is active for as long as you have the ability, and you can add and remove it at any time. Bonuses are shown in the table below. The original game contains 5 books for each skill, but other mods such as Book Covers of Skyrim - The Lost Library can increase this number. The bonus for the first 5 books is roughly equivalent to the best-case scenario, i.e. what you would normally get by keeping all the books until the end. Installation is guaranteed to be easy!

Install Reading Is Good using your Mod Manager. Place "Reading Is Good 2.esp" near the top of the load order.
Download xEdit Patcher and place it in the TES5Edit folder.
Run any other patches (such as Mator Smash) immediately. "Reading Is Good 2.esp" can be excluded from these patches.
Load complete load order in TES5Edit.
Right-click anywhere in the plugin list and select "Apply Script...".
Select "ReadingIsGoodPatcher" from the drop-down list and click OK.
Select a name for the new patch (for example, "Reading Is Good Patch") and click through the rest of the dialog box.
Close TES5Edit and make sure the checkbox for the new patch is checked.
Make sure patches are enabled in the load order.

- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.

- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
