About this mod Machine translation
Recreate stress systems from the darkest dungeons to Skyrim.
Mods satisfy hunger, mods promote thirst, mods promote sleep...and now there's a mod to relieve stress!
introduce
One of the most fascinating features in the indie game Darkest Dungeon is the pressure gauge. The hero's mind has not only physical needs, but also spiritual needs. I thought this was a very creative and well-thought-out system, so I set out to find out if this functionality could be replicated in Skyrim as well.
Overview
This mod adds a basic stress system to Skyrim. Engage in combat, sneak around, take heavy hits, travel outdoors at night, and explore hostile territory; all these actions will slowly increase your stress. Spending time in a house, temple, or inn that you own will gradually reduce the stress. Sleeping in one of these locations or simply using the waiting function will also reduce stress levels accordingly. As characters level up, they will become more resistant to stress and may take longer to return to safety.
solve
Once the pressure reaches 100 (maximum is 200), your character's resolve will be tested. In most cases this will subject your character to brutal torture, but the chance of gaining virtue is also slim. An overview follows.
Adjunct
If your character is troubled, they will randomly receive one of five debuffs: Desperation, Masochism, Paranoia, Lethargy, or Unreasonableness. These debuffs are permanent until you reduce your character's stress to 60 or less. When you are sick, you also bleed slowly until you get treatment.
despair
Becoming Desperate will reduce your damage and spell duration by 80%
masochist
Becoming a masochist causes you to take increased damage and increase your spell cost by 4x.
paranoid paranoid
Being crazy reduces your resistance to stress, quickly increasing the rate at which it accumulates.
sleepy
Getting lethargic will set your carry power to 0 during combat, forcing you to fight at a snail's pace.
Irrational
Irrational becomes a random gameplay aspect that is disabled every 5 seconds while in combat. This could be your ability to attack, your ability to sneak, your ability to activate objects, or even your ability to move entirely.
virtue
In the process of solving a problem, you rarely have the opportunity to acquire virtue instead of suffering. Virtue provides a temporary (5 minute) buff to the character, reducing stress to 50 and preventing stress from exceeding 100 for the duration of the effect. It also makes you immune to true status for half an hour. This mod adds 3 advantages.
vigorously
Gains regeneration and increases your health by 200% by 100 points,
powerful
Doubles your attack power and spell range
focus
Gain 100 points of physical strength and mana, and increase regeneration by 200%.
Don’t panic either!
If your stress goes unchecked for too long and you manage to reach 200 points, your character will suffer a heart attack and die on the spot.
Finally, for the cutting torch!
Equipping a flashlight reduces your passive pressure increase by 75% when traveling behind enemy lines and/or at night. Vampires are completely resistant to passive night pressure, although they still add pressure in hostile areas. The Cast Candlelight spell will also create less resistance to passive pressure.
Introspection for the first time
When loading the mod, you get a smaller feature called "Introspection". This spell allows you to check your current stress level; it will be printed in the spell's description, or you can force the spell so that it pops up as a message in the corner of the screen.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
