About this mod Machine translation
It's time to make Dawnguard NPCs less ugly.
about
The second mod in my NPC Overhaul series focuses on the Dawnguard DLC, covering NPCs from both factions as well as some base game vampires. My goal is to give everyone a new look while maintaining their original look and personality.
The mod is fully self-contained and features a total of 27 NPCs, both male and female. Just like Pandorable's NPCs, I kept it lightweight by having the NPCs use skins and body models that you installed. I also kept the NPC weights unchanged to increase compatibility with other mods. The skin textures you install will completely change the appearance of any NPC, so they may look different in your game than they do in my screenshots. I use bijin skin for women and SoS and dizona for men.
special version
compatibility
This mod is technically incompatible with any mod that edits the same NPCs, but most NPC overhauls will work together without issue. Like my previous replacement mods, I avoided any NPCs covered by the Bijin series so that they could be used together without problems.
I haven't tried it yet, but if you want to save a plugin slot, this mod should merge perfectly.
Installation and requirements
Install using the mod manager of your choice or manually extract the contents to the Data folder. Dawnguard DLC is required. The USLEEP version requires the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.
FAQ
Q: Help, faces are messed up!
A: Rearrange your load order to place this mod near the bottom, or reinstall. Also make sure you have downloaded the correct version. Take a look at your load order to see if your other mods are incompatible with this mod. Feel free to ask for help in the comments, but please save us twice and do some troubleshooting yourself!
Q: Can you add/change/delete?
Answer: Unless there is an actual problem with my mod. This was my vision and I'm happy with it. I would never make any special version for strangers on the internet.
Question: Why don’t you make this NPC?
A: The short answer is; I don't like it. Long answer; I usually have a clear vision in my mind of how each character should look, usually based on their personality, original look, or ideas. However, there are some characters that I have no idea about at all, and I'd rather not force it to do something that wouldn't quite fit.
Q: What about Serana and Valerica?
A: I received a lot of requests for Serana before starting this model, but Seranaholic offers several amazing versions of Serana and Valerica, and I think the author captured their essence perfectly. I did make a Serana but decided not to include her in this mod because I personally prefer Seranaholic and it felt wrong to release a version that I wouldn't use myself. However, people really want the Serana I made, and then I would consider releasing her individually.
Q: Can I apply for NPC?
Answer: Not this time. I don't have any more vampire/Dawnguard related NPCs yet, but maybe the remaining NPCs will appear in a future mod.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
