About this mod Machine translation
Just a simple script mod that provides Breezehome to the player at the start of the game.
Owning Breezehome is a simple RPG I created when I couldn't find anything similar online. Instead of purchasing Breezehome and its associated decorations from Proventus, becoming Thane of Whiterun and having Lydia wander the house all day complaining about being "burdened," players now have Breezehome from the start of the game.
What does this mod do? In a nutshell: Owning Breezehome uses a quest and an attached script to trigger the Breezehome purchase quest when the player starts a new game. It will also automatically clean Breezehome, install all upgrades, and place the key into the player's inventory. All you have to do is move in.
As usual, the Alchemy Lab can still be replaced with a child's bedroom (and vice versa) by talking to Proventus about your house.
Oh, and I also changed the "Visit Breezehome" quest text so that it no longer refers to the place as your new home. Just because I think it makes more sense.
Seriously this is what I do.
As a role-playing aid, Possessed Breeze House works best in alternative starting modes, such as the fantastic Skyrim. Of course, it can also run alongside the main mission. Having Breezehouse is not intended to be a "game-breaker" mod; you don't get any powerful weapons, extra crafting stations, or "trickster" items or abilities, nor do I intend to add any such things.
Known issues:
- After purchasing Breezehome from Proventus (instead of using the mod), you will not be able to repurchase the house using the "Reset Mod" toggle; since the "Reset Mod" removes Breezehome's key from the inventory, the house is locked and can no longer be used. Workaround: Use the console to provide yourself with a new key. - Standing in Breezehome and quickly toggling the "Kitchen" upgrade switch on and off in the MCM Test mod may cause the kitchen fire pit light to "stuck". There'
Workaround: The test module is deprecated, so please update to the latest version of Oring Breezehome (currently 1.07).
uninstall:
Use the "Reset Modules" function and delete OwningBreezehome.esp, OwningBreezehome.pex and OwningBreezehomeHousePurchase.pex
Compatibility/Conflicts:
Having Breezehome doesn't directly modify any quests, NPCs, or items; it's just a series of "enable" and "disable" triggers, so I can't imagine any conflicts. That said, using any mod carries some risk, so back up your saved games before installing or uninstalling.
Oh, and needless to say, the mod is only guaranteed to work with the vanilla version of Breezehome. If you've added extra decorations or rooms via other mods, or changed how house upgrades are activated, it may not work properly.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
