About this mod Machine translation
You'll find armor/gear you really like and the boots/heels will sink into the ground. This tutorial is for you as well as modders.
Sleepytigereyes How to Make NIOverride Work on Boots, Shoes, High Heels, Platforms, or any item of footwear that requires height adjustment.
This tutorial recommends that you know some knowledge about Nifscope, but it is not required as I will try to help you with this. Seriously, it's easier than you think. :)
If you're like me and find that perfectly good armor just makes boots, shoes, heels, or anything that looks like they fell into the ground after you put it on your character, then you might want to read this tutorial to find out how to fix the problem.
This also applies to modders who make their minions have custom armor, only to find that the boots don't seem to work in the game as it only finds that it doesn't work on newly modded minions.
How does this work?
Easy, Shoe and Nifscope only require .nif files. Instructions in the pictures are in the tutorial. Even if you're just curious about how it works, be sure to take a look.
You can still use the HDT high heel system for existing mods as well as for mods that require it.
If you don't have a Nifscope and want to learn, you can find it here: (Usually, you'll need it for shoe adjustments.)
This also applies if other mods have the same symptoms with NPCs and you want to fix it in the game.
Once you learn the method, you'll want to make this tutorial more convenient when other armor mods become available and you need to fix the same thing.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
