About this mod Machine translation
Added more horses, saddles, geldings, herds, foals and general horse diversity in Skyrim! and Arvak's new grid! And some 'special' horses too!
NOTE: This is an outdated version of this MOD.
Get the new version here!
You can keep using this if you want, the new one just has more stuff and better compatibility! :)
Isn't it strange that every stable has the same cloned horse?
Why isn’t there a herd of wild horses? Why are there no ponies in Skyrim?
Wouldn't it be nice if all these cute saddle mods were for more than just my horse?
Yeeaaaah, I think so too!
Now you can have all of that, plus a few extras! :d

Can I change my name?
Most of these horses already have unique names, but if you don’t like them, try Jaxonz Renamer
Can they be tamed?
Some horses are free,
Other horses can be tamed... if you can catch them
Some horses are owned by NPCs
Other horses can be added by joining a faction or increasing your ranking with that faction
How does ownership take ownership?
If you take a mare with a foal, the foal will follow
If you eat a herd, the whole herd will follow
If you don't like this, open the console, click on the horse below and type disable
I want that horse, but does it belong to someone else?
Open the console, click on the horse and type setownership
I have a horse but I want a different saddle?
Open the console, type help saddle or help shield, select the desired control saddle from the list. (scrolling console window using PgUp/PgDn)
Click on the horse, enter additem xxxxxxxx 1 (xxxxxxxx is the FormID number of the saddle you selected), then equipitem xxxxxxx
You destroyed Arvak!
There is an optional file for him and Charon to stick their legs again. Those poor little legs
What are the special ones?
What, you want to ruin this surprise? Go find them!
I'll give you some tips. If the hint isn't good enough, you can click on the spoiler
Help! Charon, I can't find the ghost horse?
He lives in a cemetery... Surprise, where is the largest cemetery in Skyrim? Good luck to him, he scares easily (har har)

I can't find the spectral horse, Nerida?
No surprise - this special horse lives underwater! Probably made by a mage a long time ago...
C OMPATIBILITY Convenient for Horses - Compatible and Highly Recommended! It gives you access to all new horses and more! :) Immersive horse
- Partial compatibility. Load immersive horses after more horses and you'll at least get extra horses. Using patches under optional files you can also get changes to vanilla horses (player horses, vanilla stable horses, saddles/new skins for npc horses, Frost, Shadowmere). However, you cannot install any new saddles on the console, and you cannot use additional (non-special) horses. I have Charon (Ghost horse) and Nerida (Spectral horse) fully compatible, but I don't use immersive horses, so someone will let me know how it works! If I do it right I might add better compatibility in the future... xx
Horse texture replacer for any player - most of them! The only exception is the Markarth horse's mane/tail. It now has a brownish red/black tail. Also, if you replace the default mane/tail, it might make some of my horses look a little weird since they no longer match.
Shadowmere/Frost alternative - should be! When asked, just covered mine.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
