About this mod Machine translation
This mod adds dialogue options in a simple and immersive way to improve various dialogues in the vanilla game. Responds to all sounds by using the game's original voice files. The new option means they should always be in the game.
describe
This mod adds dialogue options to various overrides that need improvement. These options mean they should always be in the game. Responses are all voiced and are based on the game's voice files. You can check out this playlist for a showcase (there's only one video for now, I'll add more whenever I have time).
Currently includes four components.
carnival
Remember random encounters with drinking partners? Three merry revelers preventing you from offering you a bottle of Honningbrew Mead? Well, there's a catch: you can only accept it enthusiastically, give them a bottle yourself or bother them by offering Black-Briar mead. I see a lack of middle ground. What if you don't like drinking at all, but you still want to be a little polite? Or do you just want to refuse to move on? To accommodate these role-playing needs, I've added two options: you can answer "Fine..." and get a bottle (you'll probably be sold at the nearest hotel), or you can politely decline (they'll be a little disappointed, but understanding).
Aela
In the vanilla game, when talking to Aela after the giants attack Pelagia Farm, you have no choice but to insult her work or show interest in joining the companions. This mod adds a new option to end the conversation with a more neutral dialogue, where she will respond politely without suggesting you join in.
Brunwulf
His first conversation with you seems a bit disappointing in terms of options: he asks "one of you" talent team "North" types? "You don't really have much choice. If the player character isn't a Nord, there's another path, but it doesn't make a huge difference and the dialogue options remain pretty much the same. That's why I added a new dialogue option for characters who aren't Nords to say 'Do I look like one?' ". He will be apologetic and then continue the vanilla conversation by stating his position on the matter.
To further improve this dialogue, I invite you to use another mod of mine, Misc Dialogue Edits, where Brunwulf will skip this question entirely if the player character is a Dark Elf.
Tonilia
When first talking to Tonilia to receive your Thieves Guild armor, you can only find a way through the conversation, which will let you ask her if she does anything for free. She's obviously very troubled by this issue because she's the guild's fence. So, I added a dialogue option to just agree with her when she explains what she did, allowing you to skip the question if you want and avoid looking like a jerky asshole.
injured
Another change from the first encounter. The first conversation with Maul has always felt a little strange to me: he starts out threatening you not to go into the Black-Briars' business, but, however, without prompting, he changes the subject to asking for work, just to add a simple way of letting the players know that the Thieves Guild exists in Riften. The heart of the matter is his answer to your question "Who is Black-Briars? Who?": He answers that question, but he seems to suddenly answer another question that you didn't ask, "Who are you?" To address this question, I've separated the two parts of the answer: Now, after you ask Black-Briars, you have two options, the first one asks who he is and shows interest in his business, the second one agrees to stay away from Black-Briars' business and ends the conversation.
Compatibility and load order
This mod is the same as the full version of Enhanced Skyrim Factions - Companion Guilds due to the addition of a new dialogue option with Aela after Giant Attack outside of Whiterun: after loading my mod, it removes one (unvoiced) dialogue option added by that mod (technically two were removed, but the other option is very similar to the one in this mod - and it sounds - and they have the same r …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
