About this mod Machine translation

Head to Midwood Isle, a small island off Somer Island filled with quests and adventure in this DLC-sized New Lands mod.

"One day, Zahkris will rise again, built on the soul of the fallen Mer, and the only one who can defeat the World Eater is

He who conquers Zahkris forever. If they fall, so will the lands of Midwood Isle. "

Travel to Sonmer's home on Midwood Isle, an island to the north west, far from the borders of Tamriels.

Explore the Sun Elves, their history and beliefs as you face new enemies, solve puzzles, explore dungeons and more.

I'm currently working on porting the mod to SSE!

What is Island Midwood?

Midwood Isle is a new land mode, which means it adds a whole new world to Skyrim, similar to the Dragonborn DLC.

Some features include:

A new world space, about 1-2 the size of Skyrim, and a "Spirit World" version of the same size

An 11-mission long main storyline

20 side missions, some linked together in mini storylines

a player's home

A new cry, three new spells and a new enchantment

New products, including five new custom weapons, new jewelry models and handwritten books

This mod has no sound. However, I'm currently looking for voice actors who want to be a part of it. If you're interested, drop me a line and we can get started.

Require

Midwood Isle requires my other mod, Playable Sun Elves. Any different version will work, as long as you have the main file Playable Sun Elves.esm

Note: I've included a non-playable version on this page, it just adds the race to the game so it can be used by this mod. If you just want this mod instead of Playable Sun Elves, you can download it.

Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent voices are not needed as I manually added the silent voice files to the mod so that the dialogue and scenes would work properly. However, there are no lip files, so the character's mouth will remain closed, so I recommend downloading Fuz Ro D-oh if this bothers you.

How to get started

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you first download the mod, I highly recommend that you wait a few playtimes for Midwood Isle's NPCs to "settle" into their packs, otherwise they may act a little strange.

After defeating Alduin, the courier will send you a letter the next time you travel to the appropriate location.

Alternatively, if you don't want to wait for a courier, you can simply head to Frozen Hearth in Winterhold to start the main quest. However, this still requires you to defeat Alduin.

This mod has no level requirements, so it can be played immediately after defeating Alduin, or successfully entering a high-level endgame. However, some major quest bosses have minimum levels, so very low level players may struggle. Therefore, I personally recommend playing at least around level 25.

compatibility

This mod is designed to be as compatible as possible. Since almost everything takes place in an alternate world space, the mode has little impact on Skyrim or any of the base games.

It's also fully navigable, so it should work with fans. However, I should mention that NPCs follow you for most of the main storyline, and you will have to dismiss your current follower to continue.

However, for obvious reasons I also had to change some cells slightly, but didn't. Remove any references and just add them in the changed cell:

Winterhold freezer stove interior

Inside Pinepeak Cave

(-16,22), the southernmost point of Solitude Pier

(-32,34) which I think is outside the border anyway, I added the map marker

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
