MARI-Advanced Companion Module

Adds a quest to the game to unlock a Dwemer automaton follower named MARI.

Meet MARI.

She is voiced by Kerstyn Unger. How to Get Her There is a small quest that begins when you read a book detailing the mysterious Automata project. If you don't want to find the book organically, you can place a quest marker on it by clicking "Start Quest" in the MCM. There is also the option to skip the mission entirely and meet MARI immediately. Functional MARI was made using custom assets that I made from scratch. She comes with a variety of modeling features including but not limited to: nif file based animation - looping and scripting, "animated textures" and .TRI files for eye animation. She uses custom animations for movement, which requires FNIS to work properly.

She has some scriptable features, such as jumping over obstacles if the player is too far away (and maintaining line of sight for efficiency). She has different "screens" that appear based on certain situations, such as waiting, fighting, trading, or discovering new locations. Although the dialogue is lighter (179 lines as of version 1), most dialogue is triggered dynamically rather than randomly to prevent staleness. For example, she will comment if you wait, sleep, complete tasks, etc.

There is also an affinity type system. The introductory mission explains this further, but as you accompany her and her eyes change color during certain "events," her dialogue will be unlocked and the tone will change.

compatibility

MARI requires SKSE and FNIS  to work properly, and SkyUI if you want to enter the MCM settings.

MARI is not compatible with the Follower Overhaul module and they should ignore each other by default.
