About this mod Machine translation
Small tweaks and improvements to Mahty's awesome Animated Dwarven backpack.
Mahty's Animated Dwarven Backpack is an amazing mod, no doubt about it, but a few things bother me. As with most packs they attach to the back weirdly so they look weird when running, I changed the Nifs on all the packs so they attach to the upper back and repositioned them slightly in a way that feels more pleasant to me.
I also changed all backpacks' "Body" slots to 46 (used as the cape slot in Immersive Armor) instead of 56, and changed the "Leg Boosters" to 57 and 56 so they no longer conflict with the other awesome mod "Space Wiking Dwemer Exoskeleton" which is another reason why I relocated the backpack. The backpack is still attached to the back, but also fits perfectly when combined with the exoskeleton (still has the clipping, but is more pleasing to the eye).
On top of this, I've added crafting recipes for the unenchanted versions of all backpack and leg boosters, so you can enchant them however you want. The crafting recipe is still for a single dwarven gold (I may change it to something better in the future), and I also ended up capitalizing the names of all the items (a small thing, but it doesn't look neat in a time list)
Things I want to change but don't know how
One of the backpacks is a little drone that floats in the air, but it's still connected through the character's spine, and I want to try connecting it to the player's head so that it's always pointed in the direction the character looks like. However, I'm new to using Nifskope, so if anyone wants to point me in the right direction, please give me a shout.
Installation instructions
You need to download Mahty's original backpack mod for this mod to work properly.
Then just install one and overwrite if using NMM.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
