What is Lost Magic? Well, in a sense it is. However, to be more descriptive, Lost Magic makes Magicka and her powers forgotten in Skyrim. You can still find spell tomes and buy them, but they will be much rarer. However, you can now make your own spell tomes and scrolls. All scrolling recipes have been rewritten to make more sense and provide better immersion since they are everywhere. If you see someone (such as Colette, Belethor, or Farengar) with these types of merchants up for sale, you may find that their inventory is now more limited. Crafting Scrolls and Spell Tomes now requires Magic Pages. You can find these magic pages, craft them, sometimes buy them, or salvage a spell book you've read and own a copy of, or a scroll you don't know how to use. There are several different types of these magic pages. Blood, arcane, fire, ice and lightning. Obviously some of them can be expected to be used to make something. Pages of Blood will be used in most restoration spells and some summoning spells, depending on the creature. Arcane pages will be used for spells or scrolls such as "Invisibility" or "Exile Daedra".
Since magic is now a rare thing, spell power is also slightly increased due to survivability. Two NPCs have been added to the game, one of which you can discover early in the game has a note that explains something in a cryptic way and leads you to the next NPC, which now serves as a source for a purchase page then. The second NPC was imprisoned by Jarl because he was good at destroying magic. This NPC will also serve as the epicenter of quests as I design updates and more content for this mod.
You can now save all of these random books as materials for crafting spell tomes and scrolls. The Enchanted Tree also provides 2 perks, allowing you to both salvage abilities and create scrolls/spell tomes. To get them, 3 points are needed, since Arcane Salvage has 2 steps, while Spell-Smith has 1 step. Each one will also increase the enchantment strength of the new enchantment by 20% (thus, the item's enhancement spell).
