Immersive Border Crossings

About this mod Machine translation
Tired of downloading tedious new launch modules? Feel like Skyrim modding still lacks basic immersion? Do you remember how Elder Scrolls used to treat you like a noob? Immersive Border Crossing is designed to place your new character in one of 12 underrated locations.
What this Mod does:
Allows you to choose to download one of 12 saved files. There is no script. Skyrim esm unchanged. All presets are clean, unmodified, and safe to use with new games.
How does it work?
Often, when embarking on a new adventure, players must go through Helgen's "short stories."
Currently, there are mods
- Remove this sequence all together (at the risk of errors and removed flags);
- Place you in a custom scenario (and add task scripts);
- Or change other game files while causing you to complete a questline you disagree with.
On the contrary, as a Dragonborn companion, I also understand the need
- Start a new role
- No need to go through Helgen again
- The option to start somewhere else. Maybe closer to solitude? Rift?
Immersive features of this module:
- Each file gives you a new and often overlooked location to start your Skyrim playthrough.
The purpose is to remind you that Skyrim is a free-to-play adventure and that your gameplay is about leveling up and exploring.
Not just the main questline.
So forget about playing a certain route!

How to install life-changing mods :(
Step 1.) Select the file you want to download. ***If you can't decide, why not get them all? :) ***
(Step 2.) Go into the game folder that contains all Skyrim Saves.
This should be in
OS (C:)\users\documents\my games\Skyrim\Saves
(Step 3). Unzip and drag the newly downloaded file into the Saves folder.
Congratulations. That’s all. Launch Skyrim and load the new immersive save file.
Why download it if you're only going to use it once? :
Because you won't. Even if you choose to forget this, opening a "loading" screen is not a good thing
See you can skip Helgen anytime now and master new gameplay?
Plus version 1.1 is just a save file. So there are no mod files to worry about adding to your plugin.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
