Changed Winter Guard's armor to look warmer and more leathery.
The Winter Palace is probably the coldest and poorest place in Skyrim. The purpose of this mod is to remove the generic armor used by Winterhold's guards and replace it with something that matches Winterhold's place in Skyrim. This is not a replacement, you can still get the original Winterhold Guard armor using your console.
I added some to their armored sleeves, fur cloaks/cloaks and leather/fur skirts to make Winterhold's guards able to withstand their own harsh climate.
My hope is that by using leather, leather, and fur as the base of the armor (cheap materials), the armor will better reflect Winterhold's economy. I also changed the armor level of the cuirassto to leather (20) but the gloves, helmet and boots remained the same.
I took inspiration from Practical Female Armor (written by JZBai) and made the male and female armor very similar. Feel free to check out the mod at:

Keep in mind that this isn't player ready yet - I haven't created a proper first person view yet.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
