About this mod Machine translation

Added merchant NPC to Hearthfire player houses

illustrate

This mod adds a resident Common Goods Merchant NPC to every Hearthfire player's house. Caela, Gwenan and Hroka will be on hand to buy back all the junk you hauled home from your own home!

Caela (Winstad Estate)

Gwen (Heljarchen Hall)

Heroka (Lakeview Manor)

Each merchant has 30,000 gold on hand - no more selling all your dungeon loot across half of Skyrim!

Each merchant has his own unique inventory (general goods)

Install

I recommend you install this mod after buying a Hearthfire house you like and upgrading the cabin to an entrance hall (it might be a bit crowded otherwise). This shouldn't cause problems if installed before building, but it will. Should not conflict with any other mods, but for best results, load it before changing any mods for regular NPCs.

FAQ

Question: Why are there merchants in Hearthfire House?

A: All other player houses are within walking distance of multiple vendors, but the Crafty Hearth House is all in the wilderness. As a result, many players don't even bother with them!

Question: Why do you have so much gold on your hands?

A: At higher levels, Dragonborn can easily clear 15K+ worth of gold items from a single dungeon, having to run to six different shops/loading screens to sell all the items is a pain. Instead, you can do it quickly at home and get back to gaming!

Q: Can merchants benefit from speech tree perks like "Investor" and "Trader"?

A: No - Skyrim may glitch when a merchant's available gold amount exceeds 30,000, so these merchants already have the maximum amount available without causing problems. Other privileges that affect selling price should still apply

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
