About this mod Machine translation

Overhaul of the Gray Zone of Windhelm, new buildings, new NPCs and new players.

When Red Mountain erupted, many Dunmer fled to Skyrim. Some of them decided to live in Windhelm. In the game Morrowind you can join three Great Houses, Hlaalu, Redoran and Telvanni. While Redoran and Telvanni made a comeback in Skyim, Hlaalu did not. This is because during the Annihilation Crisis, the Empire withdrew from Morrowind in order to save Cyrodiil from the minority, and the Empire-friendly Hlaalu was soon destroyed by the other great houses. But what if some Hlaalu remnants moved into Windhelm and decided to build their own homes in the city? My inspiration for the overhaul came from Morrowind's cities of Hlaalu, Balmora and Suran. Those of you who have played Morrowind may have already wondered what I'm going to do. The Gray Quarter overhaul introduces two new NPC houses, and two new dunmer families with their own AI packages. There's also a new player named Balruhn, and a new gentlemen's club called Paradise of Nirn.

Most likely incompatible with other Windhelm overhauls!

Requires Dragonborn DLC

Change log:

  • Version 1: In this version the ladies have no clothes and the bards sing to Ulfric until you capture Windhelm for the Imperials
  • Version 2: In this version, the ladies wear tavern clothes and only the bard plays instrumental music, not singing

In Servi House lives Relan Servi and his wife Arila. In Tevran House, lives Melvus Tevran, his wife the former priestess Nelitha, and their young adult daughter, the new priestess Darvi. Women would go to the market every day after breakfast and then return to the rooftops to work with the men. Melvus is cutting firewood next to the player's guy. As her mother watches, Darvi is praying to Azura, Boethia and Mephala. In the evening, every member of the two families went to New Gnisis Cornerclub, except Darvi, who didn't like drinking.

In Nirn's paradise, there are naked ladies (not V2 anymore), depending on which body type you use (vanilla, bikini body or naked). The bartender, Othral Hatubis, has dunmer drinks for sale, and you can get your daily dose from Ryven Dres. The cubicle next to Ryven's with the Royal and Argon Lady is for players. There you can sit back, place your mark, and get a free copy of two volumes of The Lusty Argonian Maid. The ladies sometimes get up and shake their tanks and I can't stop them. But then I figured their existence was in a place of nudity, so at least I could let them dance sometimes. And for the love of Azura, don't complain about the bard singing about Ulfric. The thing is, the chanter singing the Opression/Agression song depends on the control of the Civil War party they are in. So unless you defeat Ulfric Stormcloak, the bard will sing for him. Think about it, it's like the dunmers are trying to get on to Ulfric's good side by singing about how great he is or something. In version 2, the bard only plays instrumental music and no longer sings about how great Ulfric is. The other residents here are Farvys Andor, Arthos Veril, and Valden, northern drunkards who will happily accept your drink. Those who have played as Morrowind know that this place was inspired by Suran's Desele's House of Earthly Delights. Or something else. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
