I'm redoing the interior of a Falkreath building. As we saw in the vanilla game, the towns, cities, villages, etc. in the game seem to be lacking. Since I'm working on houses in the Falkreath area, I wanted to redo the interior of the town, hopefully making them feel like the citizens wouldn't have moved a few days ago. There are a lot of mods that can redo the exterior stuff, so I didn't touch any of the exterior stuff.
I've finished a few of the internal units, but not all, so I don't have the AIO package yet. I'm going to release the cells one at a time now so you can check them out and help suppress any errors you may encounter. This way I can upload the inner cells, fix any issues, and then move on to the next cell.
The guidelines I use when redoing cells are:
Make as few static items as possible and you should be able to pick up, collide, steal, etc. all in the house/shop.
Don't clutter the place. These people are not rich and their houses/shops are small. They won't have a lot of stuff inside them.
(Together with 2) Try to make things look like they are there. I want things to feel like they were always there from the start.
Finally, try to make it look like an adult lives there rather than a bunch of college frat boys. (Seriously, it's absolute chaos in places)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
