About this mod Machine translation
Kudos to Whiterun.
This model takes the Whiterun worldspace landscape and carefully sculpts it right underneath the Whiterun terrain, then adds grass to it. This means this mod will use your grass texture, mesh, density, etc., and also means it should be compatible with almost any grass mod.
Grass will clip into buildings and objects. Skyrim's landscape textures and meshes can only be edited precisely, and I opted for more grass instead of less clipping. If you want less grass, use Creation Kit to draw a grassless texture (I used DirthPath for easier viewing - remember, the texture is not visible above Whiterun's terrain, so it doesn't matter what you use) on the areas where you don't want grass. If you want more grass, use grass texture (I use Tundra01 - this is important, it controls the grass).
If there were unreasonable clipping, I might be persuaded to make a patch for the more popular city model, but give it a week or so; it's incredibly, incredibly tedious and I'm totally sick of grass.
Verdant Vanilla Swan Grass, Vanilla Swan Grass, Modified Suki Preset (NLA).
FAQ:
Question: SSE?!!!!!!
A: Until I make the switch, which won't be anytime soon. However, you are more than welcome to port it yourself.
Q: Can you make patches for [city mod]?
A: Maybe. Like I said, give me some time to recover. That said, I had a little difficulty with it, so if you want to make the patch yourself, it should be relatively easy.
Q: Can you make a version with less/more grass?
Answer: See above.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
