Gamepad++ brings expanded functionality to gamepad players, adding many controller shortcuts previously only available to keyboard users, as well as double-press, triple-press and hold actions and available key combinations, allowing up to 80 simulated keys to mimic keyboard hotkeys set for other modes.

Finally, gamepad players no longer have to feel limited by the limited vanilla functionality of their controller!

Gamepad++ unlocks many new features, allowing seamless playback with a controller as primary input and unlimited hotkeys for the keyboard without conflict. This brand new version of Gamepad++ has been rewritten from the ground up to provide full compatibility and integration with iEquip.

There's no "native" way to set controller key combinations as hotkeys without using third-party software like XPadder, which has always been a frustrating issue. The best you can probably hope for is to use a custom controlmap.txt which enables a combination of simulated keyboard 1-8 SkyUI favorites/outfit settings hotkeys, which is all well and good but I never use them! Then I came across Better Gamepad Key Support (SKSE plugin) for NeoH4x0r. While it didn't do that for me per se after talking to Neo, it produced the code snippet that ultimately led to GAMEPAD++.

Yes, yes, very good. But what does this actually do? Well, I'm glad you asked...

Most vanilla click button actions remain, with the exception of stick strikes, RB/right shoulder, and B.

The LB/left shoulder, RB/right shoulder and B buttons now act as combo keys (see below).

Quick direct access to inventory, stats, magic, and maps via new combos, as well as the Tween menu still available via new combos.

Favorites moved to a new button combination to release DPad left and right.

New button combinations access console, quick save, quick load and native screenshots.

Use the DPad for four-way scrolling in the map (the left stick can still be used as a cursor).

Right-click on the map to place a custom marker.

Use the left handle to scroll through menus and favorites.

In addition to all of this, almost all keymaps have been removed, allowing you to use almost any keyboard key as a mod hotkey. This also eliminates the need to disable the controller when typing into the console, entering your character's name in the RaceMenu, or any other occasion where using the keyboard while the controller is enabled would cause weirdness.

We have also removed some mouse mappings, allowing you to use the mouse to navigate the ENB configuration panel without having to move the camera or draw/swing weapons. A small side effect of this is that to expand a subsection you need to hover over the title with the mouse cursor and then expand using the keyboard right arrow as it does not register a mouse click.

Four main operation keys (DPad by default) and three combination keys (LB, RB and B by default)

Optional fourth key combination

Option to enable expanded controls offering double-press, triple-press and hold action keys and combinations

Enabling the fourth key combination and extended controls gives you up to 80 key emulations!

Assign almost all keyboard keys as hotkeys in all other mods MCM, then instruct Gamepad++ Action Keys and Key Combos to emulate them

Fully integrated with iEquip, giving you access to all the features iEquip has to offer, plus up to 48 Key Combos!

Unleash the power of your mat

When setting keyboard hotkeys in the various mod MCMs, and when setting up links in the Gamepad++ MCM, you need to disable the controller for keyboard keys to register. Ne0's input mode switch from older versions may return at some point, not now.

Do not assign any Gamepad++ keys as hotkeys in any other mod MCM. If you do this, you will have both Gamepad++ actions and actions from other mods …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
