Frost Slow Tweaks

About this mod Machine translation
Adjustments and fixes to the slow effects applied by Frost Demon, with the main goal of preventing effect breakage. A discussion originating from the Enairim subreddit resulted in a discussion about how frost magic is particularly broken when scaling is introduced, like Ordinator or Vokrii.
SSE version
feature
Slow power no longer suffers from special effects such as increased frost. Instead, all slow-casting frost spells do so at a certain magnitude and duration.
However, this magnitude will increase with the subject's missing endurance. A "standard" slow effect (base 50, like almost all vanilla spells) will go up to 80% slow, leaving less than 10% stamina. Starting with version 1.0.3, an installer option can be used to disable this behavior.
Characters with moderate frost resistance (Resistance <75) no longer reduce the slowdown of frost spells and effects.
Severely resistant (Resistance >= 75) characters remain completely immune to slowness.
Characters who are weak to frost no longer suffer from a more severe slowdown.
Slowness is also no longer affected by any general magic resistance or weakness other than immunity.
compatibility
Load after editing any mod that edits the Vanilla Frost slow effect (including Ordinator and Vokrii). When in doubt, check xEdit first, or put it after all other spell/magic mods. Please note that any attempt to use the Vanilla Frost slow effect with a quantity of 50 or less and/or a duration longer than about 4 seconds will require a consistency patch to maintain its intended value, but will not be affected by this mode.
Patches available for the following mods:
Apocalypse - Only one spell (Sleet Storm) needs fixing
Vigilance - Fixed some boss actions that apply slowdown
Both Wildcat and Smilodon have slow effects, making them suitable for combatants without stamina. This is compounded by the slow effect my workaround works due to implementation details. This isn't enough to cause the effect to break, but it does make Frost feel more powerful (95% slower in empty health). If this bothers you, I recommend disabling the stamina depletion slowdown effect in the Wildcat/Smilodon configuration, or using the "no stamina scaling" option in the installer of this mod.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
