About this mod Machine translation

With Juhaantero68's permission I edited his Forgotten Dungeons mod and I feel like I made a lot of changes that others might appreciate my changes.

Special thanks to Juhaantero68.

Please, please, please go to Juhaantero68's Forgotten Dungeons mod and download it, support it, and tell him how much you appreciate his work.

The work he does is unparalleled, there are people who have made dungeon packs before, but not at this level.

warn

In the past, in my own games, the changes I've made to this mod were made by me mid-game, and unfortunately, if you've already visited the dungeon, none of the items I edited will appear in your game.

Basically this mod only works if you are new to the game, this is your first time using the mod, or you haven't visited many of the Forgotten Dungeons in your own game. Otherwise, items in dungeons you visit won't spawn at all.

It's really stupid but your save file saves all the little temporary items in the dungeon on your first visit and even though I used a save file cleaner and got rid of the specific RefID it still didn't fix it. However, when I start a new game, all items are generated correctly.

Please keep in mind that everything stated here is experimental.

I usually like to test my mods for a few months before releasing them, but I'm just starting a new game so I'm updating, deleting, and editing mods, and I feel like this changes a lot and will take a long, long time to test most of them, so I thought I'd enlist the community's help in testing.

Since there are no scripts in this mod, the worst case scenario is that the following features don't work at all. Your game won't explode or anything. While I've done all the things listed previously, just not on this scale.

quick description

This mod will replace the Forgotten DungeonsALL.esp file with my changes.

I'm a power guy, so the dungeon is exactly the same as before, but I made a lot of changes to the existing items in the dungeon.

Detailed description

I removed some wild edits to vanilla cells. However, nothing in Worldspace is touched.

Throughout the mod I changed the names of the records to give them proper casing.

Some custom chests that were very similar to vanilla chests were removed and vanilla chests were placed in their place.

Very large amounts of gold in custom chests have been completely removed.

All notes, dragon claws and keys provided by this mod have new textures applied to them, so they will look different but have the exact same functionality as before.

Try to keep it spoiler free, but in one of the dungeons you get a unique sword. It has been changed unconsciously. Use custom sword mod and be traceable. Special thanks to Custom Sunfang from standalone09.

I'd say about 98% of all "fixed" items in dungeons are instead pulled from level lists.

Fixed items meaning if in a dungeon if they are supposed to be Canis Root in a specific location, I changed it so that it will be taken out of the vanilla alchemy list. If a beer should spawn I changed it to pull the drink from the vanilla drinks list. If a specific book was supposed to be generated, I changed it to take a book from a book instead of etc.

I also added a level modifier, which means if a small set of repair potions should be spawned, it will randomly select another random lower level potion.

I added level lists to everything: potions, weapons, armor, jewelry and gems, ores and ingots, pelts, alchemical ingredients, food and drink, NPCs, books, dwemer scrap metal, soul gems, and finally scrolls

I didn't randomize some items that weren't in the vanilla list: Frostbite Venom. Blood potions, troll skeletons and more. There are also 2 mines in the dungeon, and in those places I did not randomize the ingots.

Finally, something I didn't like about some dungeons was the large amount of food, and sometimes even potions. So the remedy I did was to add a toggle to all the more pathetic items in the game, something you would …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
