The mages gain a large amount of money after completing the Winterhold Academy quest line.
The mage robes are such a let down. I polished the robes and boots (found in the Archmage's residence) and completed the set. This armor can easily be used as endgame gear for mage characters. These additional items, along with additional robes, can be found in the Arcanaeum's Investigator's chest, which is now locked with the Arch-Mage's quarter key (to prevent misuse).
Dark Brotherhood The armor sets acquired during the course of the Dark Brotherhood questline have little use to players outside of the early stages of the game (except perhaps for the infamous double-submarine attack gloves). The changes to these armor sets are intended to balance them and make them useful throughout the game, or even easily used as end-game gear. Key changes include separately enchanting the Dark Brotherhood hood for the Diablo and Diablo versions, and the addition of the Ancient Dark Brotherhood clothing set (can be found in the Locate Old Assassin quest)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
