This is a simple mod for replacing the main font with Barlow Condensed Medium. Also available for Skyrim Special Edition.
In the fontconfig.txt file, only the following was changed to the Barlow Condensed Medium font:
“$ StartMenuFont”
“$ DialogueFont”
“$ EverywhereFont”
“$ EverywhereBoldFont”
“$ EverywhereMediumFont”
The Barlow Condensed font family is available from Google Fonts. The "medium" style is used in this mod.
Special thanks to user "just". I built this mod based on his tutorial "Custom Font Tutorial (With Free Software)". You can follow his tutorial and try other font substitutions yourself. However, I don't know how to modify the font size.
Install
Extract the files to the Data\Interface folder.
uninstall
Delete the "fontconfig.txt" and "mycustomfont.swf" files in the Data\Interface folder.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
