About this mod Machine translation

Added more horses, saddles, geldings, herds, foals and general horse diversity in Skyrim! and Arvak's new grid! And some 'special' horses too!

Isn't it strange that every stable has the same cloned horse?

Why isn’t there a herd of wild horses? Why are there no ponies in Skyrim?

Wouldn't it be nice if all these cute saddle mods were for more than just my horse?

Yeeaaaah, I think so too!

Now you can have all of that, plus a few extras! :d

Can I change my name?

Most of these horses already have unique names, but if you don't like them, try Jaxonz Renamer.

Can I tame them?

This mod does not add the ability to change ownership, own multiple horses, or make a horse a permanent player horse.

For this, you need a mod like Convenient Horse or Immersive Horse! How does ownership work? Some horses are free to attend. Other horses can be tamed... if you can catch them! Some horses are owned by NPCs.

Other horses are earned by joining a faction and/or improving your ranking.

What if I want that horse, but it belongs to someone else?

Open the console, click on the horse and enter setownership

Why are these horses following me...? If you take a mare with a foal, the foal will follow her. If you eat a herd of cows, the whole herd will follow... If you don't like this, open the console, click on the horse below and type disable I have a horse, but how can I get a different saddle? Open the console and type help saddle, help pedaling (for full body armor), help bridle (for bareback), or

To help Shadowmere (daedric barding for Shadowmere), choose the one you want from the list. (scrolling console window using PgUp/PgDn)

Click on the horse and enter additem xxxxxxxx 1 (xxxxxxxx is the FormID of the saddle you selected

number) and then equipitem xxxxxxx sometimes it doesn't show up right away, if it does, exit the console for a second and then open it again and re-enter equipitem xxxxxxx

Note: If using CH, you must first switch the horse to "Original Device" if you changed it via the CH menu before.

You ruined Arvak!

I thought these were all problems?

Did you destroy Arvak? ...under the misc file there is an optional file for him and Charon to stick their legs again. Those poor little legs! :(

Where in particular?

What, you want to ruin the surprise? Go find them!

I'll give you some tips! If the hint isn't good enough you can click on the spoiler... ;)

...Ghost horse, Charon?

He lives in the cemetery...surprise!

Good luck to him, he scares easily. (Haha, understand? ...Sorry.) Where is the largest cemetery in Skyrim?

Each type of horse has a bonus based on its breed!

Here's a comparison so you can decide which horse is best for you!

(Extra horses added by MH are usually chosen in the closest color. For example, black coat = black, light coat = Palomino, etc., but there are some exceptions.)

Note: Your horse management can change the confidence level mod if you don't like them!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
