About this mod Machine translation

Play as one of the "Hidden Figures" of the Nordic story. The mod includes complete character races, player homes and new equipment

Small and secretive, in the dark and at home, Hobgolins is rarely seen. Unless they want to be. They are skilled in the use of bows and arrows and axes as well as illusions.

This mod allows you to play as a monster. These are not the goblins of Cyrodilic lore, but are similar to the huldre folk, or "hidden ones," common in Nordic folklore. In general, this mod is fun. You probably don't want to use Arthmoor's Alternate Start mod (Beginnings).

You'll find a complete menu of Hobgolin races that can be used in character creation. You can also find a small player home in the Hobgoblin cave south of Riverwood. This cave has bedding, cooking utensils, cutting boards, safe storage boxes, usable crates, and two buckets. In the crates you will find some basic equipment: a pointed hat, a leather jacket, steel bracers and a goblin axe. (I imagine this character's armor to be very light. Some of the other items in this mod are quite powerful, but if you stick with the "Hob Goblin" armor, the game should be balanced enough. When you gain the blacksmithing skill, you'll be able to craft improved armor and weapons while maintaining the character's basic look.)

You get some hallucination-starting spells, as well as the power of the Hobgolin Night Vision: equip it like a megaphone, and use the Z key to turn it on or off.

As you gain experience, you'll be able to make other things. Once you've acquired the Illusion Adept's skill and Elf Forge, you can craft a paralyzing Elfshot flint arrow. Special goblin bows and axes are also available. When you have both Elven Forge and Advanced Armors, you can use Chaurus Chitin to enhance leather armor, while Glass Forge will give you access to Malachite Cured Leather. Leather items can be crafted on the Tanning Rack and the rest on the Forging; with higher Forging skills, the Tanning Rack will also have the "Elf" and "Glass" categories.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
