About this mod Machine translation

This is a tool for viewing/editing NPC/player factions. This should be considered a development tool: if you don't know what you're doing, you'll save money.

This is a tool for viewing/editing NPC/player factions. This should be considered a development tool: it'll save you money if you don't know what you're doing.

It's basically 2 spells, one for the NPC and one for the player. Once dropped, it will display all factions the target belongs to. The list shows 3 items:

  • Faction ID (0x01234567)

•Faction name (if available)

•Faction Level: The target's level within this faction.

These 2 spells are available directly under the "Change" tab. The self version is for players, the second version is for targets.

Some factions may display names, while others may not have names: not all factions have names. Some factions may have strange and long names (e.g. Guards). To see the level, just select the faction and change the value at the prompt and you will see the actual value (don't change it ;). Select one of the factions in the list and then you can join the faction. Value should be between -127 and 128. After modification, a message will appear in the upper left corner (telling you whether there have been changes).

If you don't want to change the value, just accept (enter /A) without canceling the input. By validating the input, the mod will detect that there were no changes, and do nothing (except say there were no changes). If canceled, the value entered will be 0 and may result in

Faction Change You cannot add a faction via this mod (so adfac in the console is very convenient ;)) You can use the faction ID provided in the list.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
