About this mod Machine translation

SKSE is required. This adds a menu where you can add custom adjustable perks via the MCM toggle option (does not affect vanilla perks). It does not affect the vanilla perk, and the game settings menu can also be adjusted via sliders.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you use any number of mods that affect your game, please edit the JSON file to match the settings set by those mods. You can check these game settings via TES5EDIT/SSEDIT. For any game issues, the MOD author is not responsible if you do not check the game value properly.

Disclaimer: I don't know all the game settings or what they do. I can only guess what some people do, and I can only find the information available on the game settings listed in the json file. If anyone has this information or is willing to donate, please let me know. Most of the descriptions with "unknown" or "assumed to have" etc. are either guesses on my part or things I really don't know due to lack of information on the Creation Kit wiki, forums, and can only guess that it is used by Skyrim.

G'day teammates!

Thank you everyone for reading this article!

This is an experimental mode that allows you to add or remove custom perks via MCM toggles and adjust your game settings via sliders, changing slider minimum, maximum and step count via .json files.

This mod only works on PC as this mod requires SKSE (1.7.3) and PapyrusUtil.

At this time, porting to Xbox and PlayStation is not possible. My apologies to console gamers. Hopefully mod authors can provide you with similar functionality via BethNet.

Installation instructions:

important! before installing this mod.

Make a clean save before installing this mod. This is a must.

You can install this mod manually or through the mod manager as usual. However, if you find that the slider is not acting up, check the Data folder in your Skyrim installation and make sure the PerkMagnifierProfiles folder is there. If not, you can do this manually.

For Mod Organizer users, it should be similar, except you can put the PerkMagnifierProfiles folder inside the Overwrite folder and see if it works.

Load order instructions:

As some users who have used my mod have reported, you need to put the EPGS module last in the load list as it seems to work best for them. , especially if other mods use their own versions of PapyrusUtil.dll.

Update instructions

Note for users of version 8.1 and above: Please remove the now-defunct experimental cheat tool as .esp and translation files before installing versions 8.2 and above.

Required: Please make sure you have the required files installed (SKSE(1.7.3))/PapyrusUtil/SkyUI).

  • Install the mod as usual. (Doesn't matter. Manually or via Vortex/NMm/MO or MO2/whatever mod manager you use).
  • New characters/clear save or save before installing mod: wait for menu to register
  • Save (quick save or just save) before launching the ECP mod. It will create a character-specific json file and allow the switching system to fully work.
  • Start using the mcm menu.

Additional notes:

On new load, first time using this module - please allow 15 seconds. This is due to the large number of settings that need to be loaded.

Reload - wait a few seconds before doing anything. It could be 1-2 seconds, or more depending on how many scripts you have running on your system. The reason is because this mod requires settings to be reapplied, such as perk effects. This mod uses scripts to automatically reapply your settings.

When modifying the slider. You can go to the PerkMagnifier.json file and modify the min and max settings to adjust the distance you want to add. See below for more details.

Note that the switch option is still checked in after installing the mod - if you notice that you still have the switch checked in when you just switched it, that's because you just installed the mod and you didn't follow the instructions to save first before using the mod. Fast saving and fast loading. That's solved.

For experienced modders/other mod authors -

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
