Earn levels by completing tasks and exploring. Skills no longer contribute to character levels!
Have you ever worried about accidentally improving the wrong skills that contribute to your level? You don't need to anymore. Now you can earn levels by completing missions and exploring. Skills do not provide experience, but they are capped relative to the player's level for balance reasons (see the "Skill Caps" section below). Feel free to train on Lockpicking without actually doing it!
Inspired by Pillars of Eternity upgrades and the pre-4.0.1 World of Warcraft weapon skill upgrade system.

Leveling
This mod uses vanilla crafting recipes (the XP required per level is the same as the original system).
The level curve can be adjusted by modifying the fXPLevelUpBase and fXPLevelUpMult original game settings. Editing these settings is compatible with other modules and recommends that you try using different values.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
