About this mod Machine translation
Overhauling the interior of Severin Manor to make it look more interesting and give the location more character. To accommodate my current toon, people may be interested in others. Lots of static clutter!
Despite its size, this is a very basic mod. I'm playing a well-traveled Dunmer companion and want him to live in a nice place in Solstheim. Now I know there are a lot of talented Solstheim player home models like Elianora, TWarrior, and Undriel, but I was wondering... why not put an actual quest reward home, Severin Manor, that looks better and I'm more motivated to actually use it instead of leaving it blank? Thus, this mod was born.
All it does is make Severin Manor appear organized. It's not too over the top, but I think it strikes a good balance between vanilla aesthetic and "classic." I'm currently not good at placing objects, so I'm sorry to say there's no custom storage (although if anyone wants to help me with this I'd be grateful). I actually deleted a bunch of redundant boxes and barrels because they were so... well, redundant. My character isn't helpless, so I feel like I don't need them. I also removed the stupid buggy creepy mannequins (I hate them) and replaced them with static armor stands because I'm lazy and again I hate mannequins. So I guess if you're a backpacking freak who needs a billion monitors for every cool item you pick up in the game, this mod is really for you, sorry. Maybe in the future I'll figure out a way to have monitors for dragon priest masks or something, but for now.
Another big change is that I've removed the forge equipment and tanning racks because Glovery Mallory is literally just down the road and why would you have a blacksmith shop in your underground house, the fumes from there will most likely kill you AAAAAAAAAA. In its place is a bathing area, beautiful statues and a laundry area. I didn't touch the navmesh and arranged everything so the NPCs don't get stuck. I don't know how to make a bathtub so your character can sit on it, so I would suggest using a pose model, which is also missing water because every time I try to add water to collapse the mesh it will crash the CK.
Now, the master bedroom has a hint of "slammin'" loot metric tons with a hint of weird eye candy for the scholar-adventurer type. If you're playing on a chunky PC, the framerate may suffer. I've tried to make it look inviting and welcoming, please give feedback on areas I can improve. Also, I added new rugs throughout most of the house because lots of fur bothers me and having the same brown rug everywhere isn't sexy. The lighting has also been edited to make it dimmer, and while it's not a glorious festival, it's better than before.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
