describe
Make All The Things is a comprehensive crafting mod that adds over 500 crafting recipes for native Skyrim/Dawnguard/Heatherfire/Dragonborn items that did not have them until now. Examples include clothing (robes and gowns, boots, gloves, hats and caps, etc.), miscellaneous and decorative items (cutlery, pots and pans, tools, bug jars, etc.), circles, spell scrolls (including 20+ scrolls that will not appear in unmodified Skyrim as they are not included in the level list), drinks and food (including most non-unique drinks, and foods without recipes such as cheese, grilled gratin, cream snacks, etc.), specialty non-mechanical weapons and armor (including faction-specific gear), and more. You can even find several recipes for items that are included in the game files, but are not available.
This mod does not include recipes for unique items, daedric artifacts, enchanted items (with a few exceptions), quest items in situations where the ability to craft such items would render the quest trivial (again, with only a few exceptions), potions (excluding some drinks labeled as potions) Materials or books (although books can be included at a later date if needed, and knowing that there are as many books in the game as there are recipes added in this mod, it will take some time). Thieves' Guild Trophies are included, but you must own the items to unlock them (Guilde). Master's Hood) is only available after you complete the entire Thieves Guild quest line.
To prevent "crafting menu clutter," each recipe added by his mod has specific conditions that must be met in order for it to appear (skin vanilla recipes are inventory-like in nature, except for your specific animal pelt). Generally speaking, this is limited to having at least one of the primary ingredients of the item in your inventory (for example, having a clay in your inventory unlocks the pottery recipe at the oven crafting station, an iron ingot unlocks the basic iron sundry recipe, a mountain flower in your inventory unlocks the flax wrapping recipe (google "flax" and you'll see why I chose mountain flower), a glass unlocks the glassware in the smelter, a straw unlocks the basket on the drying rack,
However, specialty gear like specialty weapons and armor may have additional requirements, such as specific forging perks, or specific troop items in your inventory (e.g. blood potions including vampire-themed gear and items, books Rise and Fall of the Blade for Blade gear, or bringing keys/actions to a specific player's home in order to craft armor/helmets/shields for your home), and some items require a specific crafting workstation (i.e. forging) in Fort Dawnguard for DG items, as well as for Wolf and Ancient Skyforge for Nord Gear) (SPOILER ALERT: A list of these requirements can be found at the very bottom of the instructions).
The recipe observation requirements for most common items are common sense, but if you get stuck, just ask yourself "What is this item actually made of, and does the material exist in the game?" If all else fails, don't hesitate to drop a comment.
Make All The Things was created with the core game/DLC in mind, but it also complements the survival/immersion/role playing modes very well. All efforts have been made to maintain balance and prevent items from becoming fragile (for example, the recipes for most Dragonborn items require at least one ingredient that is only available on Solstheim), and care has been taken to ensure that if an item has a high resale value, it also has a relatively expensive ingredient, so as not to detract from the Smith's leveling progress. Please note that this mod does not add tempering re …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
