About this mod Machine translation
Small and functional Solitude house suitable for a family with two children. Navmeshed with custom containers, bath and laundry areas, sand tray and chocolate bars.
This is a model of a house based on imAarwyn's work - Deithwen-Witcher Inspired Home.
This is for LE Skyrim. The SE conversion by mdzukunft can be found here.
Compatibility and changes:
Not compatible with original version. The house is now located in a cell, with only one area to go past another loading screen (the basement), and no areas outside of Solitude (no teleportation). It's family-friendly, clutter-free (mostly different), and doesn't add any NPCs. I also changed the look of the house on the outside and moved it to the corner.
It's definitely not compatible with mods that add buildings to the same location. To find a place to go to solitude, pass the market, go through the arch and turn right. The house is on the corner near the arch wall opposite the cemetery (see the images section for more pictures).
Incompatible with skyline bells and post offices, holding the city in check.
It is fully compatible with JK's Skyrim. I only use JK's Skyrim City and everything is fine. However, there is a small tree in a small shed near the house, but I think it is a lovely addition to the place. If you're not happy with it, you can disable it in the console.
Features:
Compatible with TMPhoenix's Hearthfire multiplex adoption.
There are two children's rooms on the attic. There is also a cradle. It's obviously static, but if you use a mod like Being Female that might add to the immersion, haha.
In order to move into a house with your family, you will need to install and activate the Hearthfire Multiple Adoption Plan and the house move will proceed as normal. If you don't know how, here's a little guide.
You need to cast a Blessed Home spell on the house and then ask your spouse to move into the new house. If you don't have a spouse and just have kids, beware and remember there's a vanilla disappearing bug, so be sure to save before asking your kids to move.
The kids and anyone else will have a sandbox around the house.
The following crafting stations exist: cooking pot, oven, alchemy station, enchanting table, forge, grindstone, workbench, tanning rack.
Other than that I did some boring final fixes with a small addition. The Teapot is now a new working craft station that produces coffee, hot cocoa and tea. I only added a few new items to the hierarchical list to keep things simple and not add other dependencies (sugar, chocolate bar, pitcher, coffee beans and the drink itself). They should be kept low (but not too low), you will spot them sometimes. It is always recommended to use patching.
Added items are compatible with Ineed, just register them as any other modded food.
Oven, cooker and teapot have no animation (but work fine).
If this is a big problem for you, you can disable this oven/pot in the console and use a mod like Hearthfire Extended or Hearth Craft to build a vanilla oven.
Update instructions and installation process
I may have been a bit confused about this since I posted the Deithwen-Family Edition just before Christmas. Initially I wasn't going to add any consumables that weren't lore-friendly (that's a gross insult to chocolate and I'm already sorry). But I kind of like having a working tea kettle in the house. I've also released a small drinks mod, " Warm Drinks - Easy Tea and Coffee Recipes - for Campfire Nights", and it's more lore friendly (no hot cocoa).
So, for Deithwen-Family Edition 2.0, there are several options that you can choose from after installing the core files (bsa).
(1) Preferred – Simple and independent. This means you only get one house. That's fine, if you already have enough modules added to your level list, you can use other modules to make coffee and drinks, and don't want to overlap etc. The teapot is there for decorative purposes only.
(2) Second option – Christmas flavor, standalone. You don't need an …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
