About this mod Machine translation
A death counter that counts how many times you die.
Death Counter is a mod that automatically tracks your deaths and allows you to choose how you want to be notified of your deaths. The Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) allows you to configure how deaths are displayed and change the current death toll if desired.
Whenever you start a new character with this mod installed, you will be asked if you want Death Counter to reset the current death count to 0, so you don't have to do it manually in the file when making a new character.
Note: If you are one of those people who immediately loads a quicksave upon death, then you should know that there is a high chance that the script will not have time to save your new death count. Therefore, I recommend that you let the game handle loading saving after death. It only takes a few seconds and it allows the death counter to do its job. However, if you still load a quicksave immediately after death and you find that the death count is not updating, you can use the MCM to manually add the death count.
If you want to manually reset the death count, all you have to do is change the current death count value in the DeathCount.xml video to 0.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
