About this mod Machine translation
Darken the dungeon. But not black. Scriptless and lightweight.
What does this do?
It makes the dungeon darker and more atmospheric. Also includes DLC dungeons.
Shadow casting lights will look more impressive and landscaped
Sense > It doesn't make the dungeon dark.
Torches will now be more useful.
See screenshots for examples.
How is it done?
By editing the vanilla lightning template/preset and simply making the base ambient light darker.
The base dungeon image space has also been made slightly darker.
The dungeon itself is untouched and unedited = I didn't remove any candles or torches or move around any objects etc.
Impact on fps/performance should be 0.
This mod does not add any scripts.
compatibility
As mentioned above, this mod only affects light templates and one default dungeon image space. If another mod also edits this thing, there will be a conflict. Not a ctd conflict, but one mod overwriting the other. Everything else should be fine.
No, I don't have a list of compatible mods.

Some dungeons may not use templates. Or use only part of the template. If you find that the dungeon is still too light, leave a comment and I'll sort it out.
I haven't had time to test every dungeon in the game yet.
If you have modified dungeons that use the vanilla lightning template, they will also be darkened.
Draugr relaxes by cozy candlelight and a good book.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
