Introducing some extraordinary iNeed mods, especially the Dangerous Diseases mod. You'll be able to craft cures for every deadly disease, steal cures from apothecaries and alchemists, and sometimes even just buy it for a hefty price.
Introducing some extraordinary iNeed mods, especially the Dangerous Diseases mod. You'll be able to craft cures for every deadly disease, steal cures from apothecaries and alchemists, and sometimes even just buy it for a hefty price.
I made this little mod because the iNeed disease system can be really unforgiving for characters who want to stay in the wilderness and avoid the city. Apparently the mod is just a very crude extension of another mod, so you'll need iNeed (hehe), including its Dangerous Diseases addon.
Features:
- All "Cure [insert disease name]" potions can be purchased from the Alchemist through Skyrim and Solsheim. It's possible that a certain alchemist doesn't have anything in their inventory, in which case you'll have to find another merchant or wait for the inventory to reset.
- If you have the Medic perk in Alchemy and the Healer's Manual in your inventory, you will be able to craft these cures yourself at any cooking station. Some recipes may require unusual ingredients. Stomach rot treatments in particular are annoying, and that's for a purpose. Don't want to completely gloss over the original iNeed therapy system.
- That being said, if you're collecting and crafting, you'll probably make a lot of money from your heals, since I increased their base value significantly. If I get a lot of complaints about it, I'll consider adjusting the price and recipe.
- The Healer's Manual is necessary for brewing cures. You can buy it at Collete in Mages Academy and Florentius in Fort Dawnguard. You can also use Skyrim
Find it in several places around 5. This mod creates its own leveled lists and adds them to some merchants' containers. So it only conflicts with mods that change the same container. If you have a mod that modifies said container, please create a merged patch. AFAIK, most players won't have to.
Require:
- iNeed + Dangerous Diseases plugin (download from iNeed mod page)
- SKSE and SkyUI (as required by iNeed) 3. Dawnguard
and Dragonborn
Clean up with Tes5Edit.
Notice:
This is a little model I made for myself. I don't even know how many players are still using iNeed. If there was some interest and suggestions I would at least consider making a change.
Note 2:
The mod doesn't use any new scripts or textures, so you should be able to use it on SE. If anyone could confirm if it works on SE I'd be grateful.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
