About this mod Machine translation
Speech sets from custom voice resource packs work with nanahane's "Skyrim Extra Player Voices" to give your Dragonborn plenty to say on the go!
describe
This mod adds nine voice sets for your player character, allowing them to comment on things like finding new locations, encountering enemies, gaining skills, and more. There are six female voices, one male, one female goblin, and one female. Kikiapplus and Christian Gaughf provide voice settings under the excellent Custom Voice Resource - CVR mod. Although the CVR model was originally designed for followers and NPCs, I have converted it for player use with Kikiapplus' permission. If you like this mod, please consider supporting the original source!
This mod is designed to work with other players of nanahane's Skyrim framework. Before installing this mod, you must install Additional Player Voices for Skyrim.
If you use HHaleyy's PC head tracking and speech type framework, I made a version of that framework as well. Click here to get it.
Install
Install additional player sounds for Skyrim.
Install this mod using the mod manager. Alternatively, download and extract to your Skyrim directory. The files are in 7z format, so if you want to unzip them manually, use an unzip tool that can open this format, such as 7-zip or WinZip.
Note: Only one voice set can be installed at a time unless you change the voice settings source folder as described in the Compatibility Notes below.
Select voice type in game
Skyrim's additional player sounds give you a new feature called "Additional Player Sounds." To select a voice type:
Cast other players' voices.
Click Enable.
Select voice type 2.
Note: If you changed the voice settings source folder as described in the Compatibility Notes below, select Voice Type 1 or 3.
For more information on enabling and disabling other player sounds, see Skyrim's Other Player Sounds.
uninstall
Uninstall with Mod Manager. Alternatively, delete all files and folders included with this mod.
NOTE: Uninstalling this mod will not uninstall Skyrim's other player sounds. If you want to uninstall Skyrim's other player sounds, see that mod's description for instructions.
Compatibility Notes
All voice sets in this mod use the same source folder: [Skyrim installation directory]\Data\sound\fx\nhva\set2. This means they are incompatible with each other and with any other Player Sound plugins using the same source folder. If you have multiple voices installed, the new voice set will overwrite the previous one. Therefore, it is best to install only one voice set at a time.
If you want to install up to three voice sets at the same time, you will need to change the source directories of the other voice sets.
Download and unzip the voice set.
Change the name of the source folder from Data\sound\fx\nhva\set2 to set1 or set3.
Zip the folder and install using the mod manager, or just copy the contents of the renamed folder and paste it into [Skyrim installation directory]\Data\sound\fx\nhva\set1 or [Skyrim installation directory]\Data\sound\fx\nhva\set3.
Note: Other player sounds have sample files included in the [Skyrim installation directory]\Data\sound\fx\nhva\set1 source folder. To avoid confusion, manually delete these files before installing a new voice set into the set1 folder.
Also note that if you pasted the files manually, you will need to delete them manually during the uninstall process.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
