A new approach: ending skating battles
This mod implements the Souls series attack commitment system to Skyrim
This mod relies on behavior files. This means it is compatible with other battle modes.
You can find the entire thought process here.
Animation work files are uploaded as optional downloads. The tutorial is here and you don’t need any special skills or knowledge to create custom animations.
You can preview version 1.1 animation here.
Core functions:
Lock action after attack starts
Lock camera after 0.2 seconds
Each attack forces forward movement
New timing and longer animations for attacks
Optional features:
Normal attack requirements and stamina consumption (Wildcat increases the stamina cost, but has no stamina requirements. Let this mod override it)
Stagger (Allows staggering on every hit. Vigor and Wildcat use balancing. These features can be combined)
2hm speed customization
DS loves speed and Estus mod (stamina regeneration, no health or magicka regeneration, Estus mod WIP and highly experimental)
Not available in Oldrim due to CK keeps crashing
Some basic mods:
Shikyokira's Ultimate Dodge Mod
Speed and Reachability Fixes GodlySandwich
How to use
This module is compatible with Nemesis, a free and more powerful alternative to FNIS. It has all the features of FNI but allows you to do some behavioral file modifications without any knowledge required to make them.
This means you can use FNIS mods, PCEA mods (Nemesis PCEA is in private beta), CBE, and The Ultimate Dodge mod without conflicts.
However, you cannot install FNIS and Nemesis at the same time. Here’s how to install Nemesis:
I will explain how to make a Nemesis patch (very simple) in another video. For most available mods (as with Skysa) it should be enough, but some may need a little more work.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
