About this mod Machine translation
Great winter holiday resource pack. 295 files, mesh only, very light. All objects have collisions.
It's just meshes - with collisions - so the download is pretty compact, but there are almost 300 files in total.
I tried to combine a wide variety of Christmas tree decorations, from fancy variations (with pearls, gold and glossy textures) to very modest items made of clay, miniature wood and a variety of fruits and baked goods.
Most of the variations in this pack are produced in Nifskope by using "vertex colors" (which give parts or whole objects a specific hue), UV maps (which determine how the texture is mapped to the object) and via cubemaps, which can give objects a special sheen (very reflective, very warm, very cold, etc.).
If you want to generate your own variants, you can easily make these changes in Nifskope. I wrote a simple guide on how to do this for another mod, you can find it here.
This is a great stepping stone for anyone interested in Skyrim's design changes, but not brave enough to commit to a proper 3D program like Blender.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
