Books can be purchased for a nominal sum of gold from the following vendors: Urag gro-Shub in the Winter Academy Library, Falion in Morthal, Belator in Whiterun, and Lucan Valerius in the "Riverwoods trader" in Riverwood. If you have installed a mod that adds items to any of these merchants, it is recommended to use the feature of creating patches in the program Wrye Bash, otherwise, some items from the mod may be missing.
NOTE: Use cheat codes and a bug and actionable plugin detector if you really need to. Every and unreasonable use of console commands can cause new errors, freezes and crashes in the game as spam can save!
To enter the required code, the book does not need to be closed.
Some codes only apply to objects (see below), some codes apply to characters, and some codes apply to the entire game.
Skyrim's code is registry-insensitive, meaning that code can be entered in both lowercase and uppercase letters.
Install:
Download the archive, copy the files cheatsbook.bsa and cheatsbook.esp to your in-game data, view the mod in any mod manager, play.
The archive also contains a table file with all the game IDs and all the books in XML format (go into the BOOKS folder), you can open it with any text editor.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
