Books can be purchased for a nominal sum of gold from the following merchants: Hurricap Shub at the Academy Library in Winterhold, Falion Library in Morfala, Belethor at "Beletore's Shop" in Vajtrane, and Lucan Valery at "Riverwood Merchant" in Riverwood. If you already have one installed that adds items to these merchants, it is recommended that you use the patch creation feature in the Wrye Bash program, otherwise you may lose some items from the mod.
New features in version 2.2:
- Characters were added to Ref ID and Base ID, these characters are needed in different situations for different codes, and due to the increase in text volume, the "Characters" volume was split into two parts.
- Two volumes of "Place", combined into one;
- Fixed several errors and typos in text and code;
- Added treatments for vampires and werewolves
Installation: Download the archive from mods (when selecting the download file, select the Skyrim (Special\Legendary) version), extract the chitsbook.bsa and chitsbook.esp files into the game's Data folder, connect to the mod-manager. The archive in the BOOK folder contains the text version of the book in XML format (open with any text editor)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
