About this mod Machine translation

The mode transfers mage character progression to the world by adding spell size to the loot list and introducing new magical non-consumable items as requirements.

introduce

When you play as an archer or warrior, your character's strength is expressed in some way. You upgrade skills, choose perks, and loot better gear. This means you need to explore to deal more damage or absorb more damage.

As a mage, your progress is limited: your skills only make your spells stronger, and higher-level spells are only available from spell vendors. High level spell outlines cannot be found anywhere in the world. Enchantments help, but they're not limited to mage characters.

This disparity made character progression for my mage character extremely tedious.

what mod is this

First, this mod adds a proficiency and expert level spell compendium to the loot list. You can now find these items in loot, boss chests, and more. These lists are different and were handled entirely by chance. This means no need to use Morrowloot or Skyrim Unleveled, and possibly even Requiem's patch. To prevent any old chums from using super powerful spells early on, I also did something else.

This mod adds the new objects you need to your inventory in order to be able to cast proficiency level spells.

Expert level spells are also about 30% cheaper, for reasons I'll explain in another section.

These items can be found in boss chests, in certain hand-placed locations (many dungeons have at least one spawn of these items), and rarely on slain mages or vampires.

If you're missing an item required for a spell, your spell cost is approximately three times greater. Applies only to proficiency-level and expert-level spells. Novice, apprentice, and primary spells are unaffected by this mod, as the mage character needs to have some firepower while also being a viable target.

However, just getting any of the special items introduced by this mod won't work. You need to get it right.

For proficiency level spells, there are five items, each related to a school of magic. These objects are called catalysts. For example, if you have a Catalyst of Destruction, you will be able to cast proficiency-level spells without penalty. If not, activate the above debuff.

Expert level spells are much more powerful and therefore require more items to cast. Expert spells are also the main reason I developed this mod. Of course, you'll need Catalysts for each magic school, as well as being good at level spells. However, for expert level spells, you need a high catalyst. If you have high Catalysts in your inventory, you can also freely cast skilled level spells. This is done to prevent character encumbrance due to bad rolls on loot: you may be showered with high catalysts when you really need to be normal, since your character won't know any expert level spells at that point in time.

Connoisseur level projects are more common than expert level projects.

All this catalyst talk may sound confusing, but it gets better. For expert level spells, you need another item, called a mystery. These mysterious objects also require expert spellcasting: only high catalysts can do this. Enigmas belong to the type of magic that a particular school is in. What type you might ask? For destruction, it is an element, like fire. For example, the Incinerate spell requires a high Deconstruction Catalyst and Fire Enigma in the player's inventory in order to be cast without the debuff. The other schools follow the same pattern: expert anti-undead spells and healing spells from the Restoration School have their own mysteries, and therefore require these items, as well as high-restoration catalysts, in their inventory.

I'm going to write a short list of what I'm explaining here.

ADEPT LEVEL SPELLS NEED:

catalyst. For example, Close Wounds requires:

Recovery Catalyst.

Fireball requires:

Destroy the catalyst.

etc.

Expert level requirements:

High Catalyst and Enigma. For example:

To meet the larger undead needs:

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
